Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman may not have pursued a romantic relationship outside of their iconic work on I Dream of Jeannie, but Barbara still feels they were "meant to be together." A Lasting Connection

Barbara, now 90, recalls how their chemistry went beyond the screen. "We just clicked," she says. "We had the same rhythm, the same truth in everything we did. I truly believe we were a perfect match both on-screen and off." The actress explains how their bond was something special, built over years of working side by side, creating magic that fans still cherish today.

Sharing the Stage

Barbara shares how much she admired Larry's talent. "I loved him a lot," she continues. "Some actors you have to work at really liking, and you put that in a separate box in your mind. But with Larry, I never had to do that. He was just there, always present, and it made working with him such a joy." Their collaboration on I Still Dream of Jeannie was a testament to their professional respect and personal connection.

    When reflecting on Larry's struggles with alcohol addiction, Barbara reveals a softer side of the man many knew from Knots Landing. "Larry was a very kind man when he was feeling well," she says. "Even though he was troubled, I never saw that side of him. Most people had, but never me." Her memories of Larry remain fond, filled with laughter and camaraderie.

    Barbara recalls their first meeting before starring in I Dream of Jeannie, which aired from 1965 to 1970. "I scared Larry to death during one of our scenes," she laughs. "Jeannie was so passionate, and I threw my arms around his neck. He seemed fine at the moment, but later he told me, 'You scared the bejesus out of me.' I just said, 'Well, I was playing the part.' It was hilarious!"
