Jane Seymour's New Adventure: Life, Love, And Solving Crimes

Jane Seymour turns down partner's proposal and won't wed again after

In her latest TV series, Harry Wild, the legendary Jane Seymour transforms into a crime-solving powerhouse. In this captivating show, she often dons disguises to go undercover. "Sometimes she pretends to be an old Scottish or Irish lady to gather intel," Jane explains to Closer. "People don’t suspect her because she appears harmless, but trust me, she's anything but!"

A Life Full of Purpose and Passion

Just like the fearless literature teacher turned crime fighter she portrays, Jane Seymour is someone not to be underestimated. At 71, she continues to shine as a character actress and finds immense fulfillment through her charitable work with the Open Hearts Foundation. Her personal life is equally vibrant, filled with love from her partner David Green, her four children, and three grandchildren. "My life revolves around family, my closest friends, and making a difference in the world," Jane shares with a warm smile.

Finding New Ways to Help During the Pandemic

When the pandemic hit, Jane, who once admitted to being computer illiterate, stepped up in a big way. She learned how to host fundraising events via Zoom, determined to help those in need. "I wanted to raise funds for women and children struggling due to COVID," she recalls. "There were food shortages, and many battered women had nowhere safe to turn. I worked with 22 different charities, inviting people to private Zoom events where they could contribute. It was incredible to connect with people all over the world, all from my living room."

Jane filmed Harry Wild, her eight-part mystery series on Acorn TV, in the beautiful landscapes of Ireland last year. The show's protagonist, a retired college professor with a knack for solving crimes, was written specifically for her. "I think the reason I'm still in demand is because, under my bangs, my mind is always moving," she laughs. "I love playing complex characters, and this role gives me that chance. Plus, I've made a conscious decision to avoid Botox and plastic surgery. I want to embrace aging naturally and have fun with it."

Her other recent projects include Ruby's Choice, a poignant story about a woman facing dementia, and a recurring role on B Positive as Bette, an 85-year-old resident of a retirement home who believes she's a 20-year-old rock star. "It's such a blast playing these diverse roles," she says.

    A New Kind of Love

For the past eight years, Jane has been in a fulfilling relationship with David Green, a British film producer and director. While she's happy and content, after four divorces, she doesn't feel the need to marry again. "As you age, you carry a lot of life experiences with you," she explains. "You bring your health concerns, your career, your children, and grandchildren into the relationship. It's a different kind of bond you're looking for. David is incredibly supportive, but we both have our own passions and careers. I enjoy running my life and my business. It gives me a sense of independence that I truly cherish."

    Life Beyond the Spotlight

When she's not in front of the camera, Jane loves to entertain family and friends at her Malibu home. "One of my closest friends is Joe Lando from Dr. Quinn. His family is always around," she says fondly. "I cherish moments when I'm with a small group of people, whether we're painting, eating, drinking, or taking long walks on the beach discussing life. Those are the times I feel the happiest."
