Actress Julia Schlaepfer, who plays Alexandra, offered some insight into what fans can expect this season. “The tone this season is darker for everyone,” she told ScreenRant in a February 2025 interview. “Survival mode is the name of the game, so while Alex’s journey may not be as romantic as last season, it’s more about fighting to return to the love she lost. It’s a tough season, but an epic one, no doubt.”

In a Q&A with The Hollywood Reporter in 2023, actor Brandon Sklenar suggested that a third season might not be in the cards. “No, it’s a limited series,” he explained. “Think of it as one story split into two parts. Season 2 will wrap up the narrative, and while there’s always a chance for more, right now, we’re treating it as a conclusion.”
Regardless of the future, fans are thrilled to have Harrison and the rest of the cast back for season 2. Taylor Sheridan shared how he convinced Harrison, a Hollywood legend, to join the series during a visit to his Texas ranch. “He flew down, and I pitched the idea,” Taylor recounted in a Deadline video. “I told him, ‘You can read the script when it’s done, but I need you to commit now. I’m done writing blind—I need to know who I’m writing for.’ Two bottles of wine later, he said yes. I got him on a plane, closed the deal, and the rest is history. Then came Helen, and the same thing happened over a glass of wine.”
